Research informs us that gifted minds are engaged when deeper understandings can be explored, analysed, invented, reinvented, challenged, questioned and shared with other like minds. To excite our most able thinkers, to stretch their capabilities, to seek their potential, to capture their imaginations, to fuel their love of learning, to nurture relationships with other gifted minds is quintessential to our existence. As such Born to Soar has established an educational community for gifted children through our Centres for Gifted and Talented Education.

The Born to Soar Gifted Approach is epitomised in our term ‘enteration’ – born from the word ‘entreprendre’ the French root for our English word enterprise and entrepreneur. Our community members are our ‘Entersoars’, ‘Entercelers’ and ‘Enterites’ – they ‘enter’ into a community where it is safe to explore; solve problems in new ways; undertake challenges; use initiative and to think differently; a place for minds to be unfettered and given permission to soar and discover original thought.

“Enterites” – Exploring and thinking in a new way!

Our Enterite educational community provides a space for gifted students to learn, where a gifted student’s need to be taught at their Zone of Proximal Development (ZPD – the difference between what they can learn with no help and what they need to learn with support) is paramount to our learning paradigm. Enterites will have the opportunity to extend reading, writing and maths as formal skills aligned to the Australian Curriculum when readiness is evident. Learning will be scaffolded depending on each individual student’s needs.

Points to consider as you join our learning community

“Enterceler” – Experiencing curiosity in a new way!

Our Enterceler educational community provides a space for gifted students to learn, where a gifted student’s need to be taught at their Zone of Proximal Development (ZPD – the difference between what they can learn with no help and what they need to learn with support) is paramount to our learning paradigm. The skills taught are aligned to the Australian Curriculum from Year 3 and above. Learning will be scaffolded depending on each individual student’s needs to meet these curriculum outcomes.
